Just started in like August...
My first bass was a Venson (It's supposed to be crap). Her name is Helena- got these skull graphics and skull knobs and stuff. Actually it sounds absolutely amazing with distortion, and really nice when played clean as well- I still use this one a lot (mainly for when I'm playing at parties and stuff- I sometimes play lead lines because that whole 4x1 note a bar thing gets overly boring).

A couple months ago I got an Ibanez SRX300 and it feels insane- really skinny neck and stuff. Her name is Jean and she's sparkly silver. Played clean you get a really nice sound but distorted it just sounds like... Wtf... Anyway I use this one more for stuff like Jamiroquai and RHCP when I need the skinny neck for the speed

SCHECTER STILETTO DELUXE 5
I'm quite proud of my acquisition
It's got great tone and can go loud as hell.
Not to mention the ridiculous sustain

My main and most favorite is a 1980 (one of the first) G&L L-1000. Very rare Ash body, Ebony fretboard. I rarely take this to a gig. I use a P-Bass knock off w/Seymor Duncans. Sounds sweet.

I have a rare 1980 Washburn Scavenger. Big body, lots of tone - heavy though. I'm aiming for a Jazz in the near future. I played guitar when I was a kid & bought the bass about 20 years ago for $100 I was planning on songwriting on a multitrack. Didn't happen, stopped playing altogether. I moved into a new house a couple of years ago next to a guitarist/singer & a drummer on the other side - so picked up the bass to join in. PLayed for about a year & a half now.

I play an Ibanez SDGR because my brother is letting me borrow it to learn on. I might buy it later on if he wants to sell it. I've only been playing for about a week and a half now. It's a blast.

Been playing for almost two years now, and have been playing on a Stagg BC 300 J-Style. It's an imitation Fender Jazz, but everyone's been telling me that Stagg is one of the best brands for low-end basses. Anyway, I like it a lot, it sounds awesome. I think the tone control could be a little more productive, and the stock strings were garbage. But, I'm going to get a real Fender Jazz soon, and will turn this Stagg into a fretless with flatwounds when I do.
